Anny Francisco and Robert Springs had a whirlwind romance when they appeared on Season 7 of “90 Day Fiancé.” After spending eight hours together in the Dominican Republic, where Anny hails from, Robert proposed to Anny and she accepted. Anny eventually traveled to Florida to be with Robert and his young son, Bryson. However, not everyone in Robert’s family was on board with their romance.
Bryson’s grandmother Stephanie expressed her doubts when she learned that Robert met a woman in the Dominican Republic and intended to marry her. According to In Touch, she believed Anny only wanted to marry Robert for his money and to get a green card. In an episode where the couple met with Stephanie and her husband, things escalated when Stephanie opened up her checkbook and offered Anny $10,000 to hit the road, and then upped the amount to $15,000.
After the episode aired, Stephanie insisted on Instagram (via In Touch) that the reality TV scene was not, well, reality. “It’s f****** TV people. TV!!! It’s fake. It’s scripted. I had to borrow a checkbook because the producers asked me to do this. I have screenshots to prove this,” she said. Anny and Robert ended up getting married despite Stephanie’s real or not-so-real doubts. The couple has since welcomed two children, per TLC.
