Miley Cyrus’ plane makes emergency landing after lightning strike


Miley Cyrus and her crew are safe after lightning struck their plane on their way to Paraguay.

“To my fans and everyone worried after hearing about my flight to Asunción. Our plane was caught in a major unexpected storm and struck by lighting,” she posted on Instagram early Wednesday.

“My crew , band , friends and family who were all traveling with me are safe after an emergency landing. We were unfortunately unable to fly into Paraguay. 💔 I LOVE YOU.”

Alongside her caption, the “Midnight Sky” singer posted a video of the terrifying weather as well as a photo of the damage to her plane caused by the lightning strike.

As soon as she posted to social media, her post was flooded with prayers and well-wishes from friends and fans.

“THANK GOD YOU ALL ARE SAFE 🙏🏽✈️,” designer Jeremy Scott commented.

“I’m glad everyone is safe, don’t worry mc we understand, love you so much 🥺❤️,” a fan account responded.

“Omg that is terrifying. I’m so happy you guys are okay 😭😓😓 Geez you really never know when something life changing can happen,” another wrote.

Just hours before the frightening ordeal, the 29-year-old pop-rocker performed in Bogotá, Colombia.

“COLOMBIA! THANK YOU FOR AN UNFORGETTABLE NIGHT! I LOVE YOU! 🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤,” she wrote alongside a clip of her steamy performance.

Cyrus has been performing throughout South America as part of her Miley Live tour. As of now, the “Wrecking Ball” singer is still set to perform at Lollapalooza Brazil on March 26.
