Angela Bassett Becomes First MCU Actor To Win Golden Globe

Angela Bassett is a highly decorated and regarded actress. Now, Angela Bassett has become the first actor in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) to win a Golden Globe for their portrayal. Since the release of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, there has been considerable talk about Angela Bassett getting an Oscar nomination for her role in the film. If so, this will be her second Oscar nomination. Her first came in 1993 for Best Actress for What’s Love Got To Do With It. As many fans will know, she played Tina Turner in that movie. The Oscar Nominations will come out on January 24. The ceremony will take place on March 12 and will air on ABC.

The Golden Globes on NBC did not seem to be appointment viewing like the show was in the past. In fact, it seems most people got updates from social media instead of watching the show. Of course, this happens a lot, but The Golden Globes has had its fair share of controversy over the last few years, making many turn their back on the show. There was even uncertainty about how many nominees would even attend.
