I like this figure, it’s cool that we’re getting another animated series version of Spidey and I hope that this means Spectacular Spidey is on the way as well. I do have two things I’d improve on the figure though, one is to have the diaphragm/ab crunch combo I think every Spidey should have and two is the black shading especially on the mask. I’m going to have to color it myself because this suit isn’t even recognizable to me without that black shading on the mask.
Kaine is definitely my most anticipated of the wave, can’t wait to get him. I’m ok with Agent Venom’s height, he’s going in the Spider-Verse display so I like him being a bit smaller to fit in better.

Idk I think that he is just a resuse of the Vulcan body with some slight “new tooling” and this is exactly why I passed on Kaine whichI wanted pretty badly but that Vulcan body is too small, now if this used the Punisher body I would have been all over this buts it is not. And I gotta say this whole wave just is underwhelming even the agent venom which looks decent only has ok articulation (no boot cut or a crutch at the waist like they can at least do?) and its undersized, like that whole wave could have been great buts IMO its been just a bunch of poor executions.
I’m sure it will leave something to be desired for sure. It’s just that every time I see they haven’t just thrown the Sunfire model at a new character I get a bit excited. I don’t however think it is the Vulcan model. Maybe it’s some kind of hybrid in the same scale but the way I tell a body mold from the Vulcan one is in the abs detail. It’s all about the abs. Coming from a licensed physical trainer. LOL. But it’s true. And there actually are 2 distinct variations of the Vulcan. Just look at the X-Men Uniform 3 pack with Gambit and Banshee. They are both on the Vulcan sized model but there are some very distinct differences in the base sculpt. And it isn’t in just the character specific elements. I think they made more than one Vulcan model on purpose. I think it has something to do with production because you very rarely find them using the same sculpt in any particular wave or multi pack even though it does still happen on occasion. But that’s my general theory on why molds like the Bucky Cap and Kate Bishop still find their way into some waves to this day.
And I agree with you 100 percent about Agent Venom. I saw it from the start that he was way too short. Flash was in the 6’2″ range before he lost his legs so the Vulcan build or larger would have been the proper one. And though I’m all about new and original sculpts and models this one is quite a bit more undersized. Actually shorter than most other males in the wave. Aside from Spider Boy of course.

…Kaine in this form was portrayed as much larger than your average clone and I was almost sure they were going to do him on the Sunfire model. Had they even used the Vulcan model it would have been okay but it actually looks like they used an even larger model. I’m not a hundred percent sure but it looks to be some variation of the new Punisher model which is excellent. So credit to Hasbro for getting it right. And even if I’m wrong and it’s in the scale of the Vulcan body…

I was initially on the fence with the Kaine figure. Wasn’t sure it’d have a place on my shelves but the more I see of it, the more I can’t wait to get it in hand. Loving the look of this one more and more!
I wasn’t too excited about it at first either because I just knew Hasbro was going to screw it up. Kaine in this form was portrayed as much larger than your average clone and I was almost sure they were going to do him on the Sunfire model. Had they even used the Vulcan model it would have been okay but it actually looks like they used an even larger model. I’m not a hundred percent sure but it looks to be some variation of the new Punisher model which is excellent. So credit to Hasbro for getting it right. And even if I’m wrong and it’s in the scale of the Vulcan body it’s still better than the typical throw-it-together-and-be-quick-about-it standard use of the Sunfire body they usually do. There’s a veiled complement in there somewhere but until Hasbro retires that Sunfire model for good or at least start using it properly I’m always going to assume the worst with every new character.

Does anyone know if the Husk yelling head is fully sculpted or just painted on the face? Part of me hopes Hasbro put in the effort and sculpted the separation between the flesh tone and the silver part. The other part of me is hoping they cheaped out and just painted it. That way I kind just remove the paint, swap out the hair, and then use it for my Siryn figure.

I used to buy everything from BBTS.
I had a Retro carded Beast (with the lab coat), on pre-order. Waited, waited, wrote customer service, they informed me they were still “getting them in” and not to worry.Another month goes by – get my cancellation e-mail. I’m pissed I waited so long, having seen other opportunities to pick it up for a decent amount of money, but certainly not what the figure has risen to on secondary markets.I happen to be at a toy show, got talking to a guy who has 3 of them. He told me he had 4. Asked him where he got them, BBTS. He wanted his full order of 6, but settled for 4. Of course he wanted $100 for each of them.
I contacted BBTS after the chance encounter. I don’t think expected anything like what happened to me, happen. A chance meeting, knowing they value bulk customers instead of the guy just buying one or two of the figure. They gave me the run around. I don’t know why companies always think it’s better to lie and give the run around, then simply state that yeah they messed up.I spent THOUSANDS with them every year. I’m a big statue and high end figure buyer. I’ll never spend another dime with them. If they had just been honest I would have continued my business with them. A simple apology would have also done it. Instead I know conduct business at Entertainmentearth.
The More I see that Spider-Child I dig it, Not remotely familiar with what’s going on in the comics with them, but The more I see the figure I dig it’s colors and look, I really like that weird monsterish face, someone wanna tell me what’s up with that? it’s very cool.
