Naughty Dog, responsible for The Last of Us, has shared on Twitter a new comparison of The Last of Us Part I. It is a remake of the original work that was presented during the opening presentation of the past Summer Game Fest 2022.
Since then, many users have debated whether this is really a remake or remastering. Things have calmed down as comparison videos have been released and Naughty Dog has shared new snippets like this one that you can see below.

Prepare to hit the dusty road on a beautiful — and dangerous — journey across America in The Last of Us Part I!
In the scene you can see Joel and Tommy (his brother) riding a horse. Although years have passed and it is a remake, we will avoid saying more about the scene so as not to cause spoils. Despite being 14 seconds long and being in “Twitter quality”, you can appreciate the enormous work of Naughty Dog.
The scene has much greater detail. The vegetation is more abundant and realistic. In addition, it offers more sensation of volume (leafiness). The colors are more attractive and the lighting (lights and shadows) is infinitely better treated.
The animations they are less stiff and more natural, you can see it in the way the horse runs/trot and in Joel’s posture when riding. As a last detail, the backpack has physics that make it seem that its content moves as the horse trots.
In any case, Naughty Dog said that “nobody has really held the controller in their hands” when responding to criticism and that “there is no comparison between PS3 and PS5.” In addition, he justifies not introducing the prone function (as in The Last of Us Part II) because “it would have broken the game and the combat space, since it was not built that way originally.”
The Last of Us Part I It will be available on September 2, 2022 on PS5. The PC version will take a little longer to arrive.
