One of the most characteristic elements of Marvel movies, and which has served to introduce new characters and even advance a bit of what is being worked on in the future, are post credits scenes. These have been part of superhero films since the MCU officially began with the first installment starring Robert Downey Jr., playing Tony Stark.
In that movie that served to introduce the character of Tony Stark and kicking off a new era, fans who stayed until the end credits were surprised by a post-credits scene featuring Samuel L. Jackson playing Nick Fury. In fact, immediately he talked about the Avengers initiative. Since then, the Marvel films have had these scenes that, rather than conclude the work, seek to continue the events by advancing a little about the future.
And, recently, Kevin Feige, the president of marvel has explained how all these scenes from the MCU in Phase 4 connect with future installments of The Avengers: The Kang Dynasty Y The Avengers: Secret Wars.
Keving Feige talks about the importance of post-credits scenes in the MCU
Thanos’ first physical appearance in the MCU in the post-credits scene at the end of The Avengers.
Recently carried out the San Diego Comic-Con and, after 2 years without appearing, Marvel returns to this evening of comic book lovers to reveal new information about the next Phases that the MCU will work on; specifically, Phase 5 and 6.
Back in 2019, Marvel announced Phase 4 of the MCU, which would be made up of movies and series as well. However, this time, Marvel president Kevin Feige has decided talk about the importance of post-credits scenes through the history of the company’s films.
Kevin confirms that these scenes, originally designed for fun, have become a fundamental part for all movies and even series that they have developed over the years. Through these, not only can fans who have enjoyed the film be rewarded with some additional scenes, but, in general, they usually introduce relevant information for the plot that is being built or introduce new characters that will be key.
There has always been a theory that Marvel has developed all the future movies of its Phases even for many years, but Kevin Feige himself confirmed that this is not true. However, this does not take away from the fact that the company has been able to build great plotswhich have developed film after film to culminate in a global denouement, as was the case with the Infinity Saga.
But it’s this that has fans wondering if all of the upcoming post-credits scenes will also connect to the larger events of The Avengers: The Kang Dynasty Y secret wars.
Kevin Feige Explains Post-Credits Scenes’ Connection To Upcoming Avengers Movies
Harry Styles debuted in the post-credits scene of The Eternals as Eros, Thanos’ brother.
Feige acknowledges that the post-credits scenes have also served to introduce characters who could be very important for the larger story they are building, as was the case with Harry Styles, playing Eros, Thanos’s brother, at the end of The Eternals film or more recently Charlize Theron playing Clea, at the end of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of madness
However, he also adds that, although these scenes have worked to contribute to the larger events of the Phases, there is no denying that many of those that will be seen soon will have nothing to do with the movies of The Avengers: The Kang Dynasty Y The Avengers: Secret Wars.
Fans should understand that just as there will be some post-credits scenes that complement or work in favor of these events, there will also be others that, or they have nothing to do with this or they will be directly related to different events.
With this answer, Kevin hopes always keep that wow factor not to standardize that all the post-credits scenes will be to advance what continues, but sometimes they will be moments with a different value.
