I have to admit that of all the video games that paraded at the Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase conference last month, one of the ones that caught my attention the most was The Last Case of Benedict Fox, a metroidvania by the Plot Twist studio that has now let see in extensive gameplay.
In the background we can hear the creative director of the team reviewing some of the most important features of this adventure that seems entirely extracted from the novels of HP Lovecraft. All the action will take place in an abandoned mansion, with a gameplay in 2.5D, which we will go through with detective Benedict Fox and a demon that will accompany him.
Together they will be able to enter the minds of those who have recently passed away in order to explore every corner of this dark place until discovering what has happened to a young couple who has been murdered. Moreover, the director himself recommends not to overlook any area to find all the hidden secrets.
However, along the way you will have to face a multitude of demons, who will have their own attacks and ways to kill them. For this we will have different weapons, powers and we will even be able to take advantage of the environment to get ahead. What is clear is that the title seems to be very challenging between its combats and puzzles that you will have to solve.
The Last Case of Benedict Fox is scheduled to go on sale sometime in the spring 2023 for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and PC, although Xbox Game Pass subscribers will also be able to enjoy it from day one.
