Bad news for role-playing lovers and Xbox users.
Planned for this year Redfall and Starfield delay their release to the first half of 2023, Bethesda has confirmed through a statement posted on its Twitter account. Redfall, the new Arkane Austin game, did not have a specific date, but Starfield showed its first trailer last year pointing to the date of November 11, 2022. The day that marks the 11th anniversary of the release of Skyrim. It was also about the only two first party games confirmed for Xbox Series X|S for the remainder of 2022.
“The teams at Arkane Austin (Redfall) and Bethesda Game Studios (Starfield) have incredible ambitions for their games and we want to ensure that you receive the best and most polished version everyone,” Bethesda said in the statement. “We want to thank everyone for their enthusiasm for Redfall and Starfield. That energy is an important part of what inspires us each day and drives our excitement for what we’re creating.”
The company ends by assuring that “can’t wait” to show the first Redfall and Starfield gameplays. Something that, if there has been no change of plans, should happen in the Xbox and Bethesda event on June 12, which should have been their E3 conference in a normal year where the fair would have been held.
