In the surreal soap opera of EA and FIFA there is a new chapter even more twisted. If yesterday the creation of the EA Sports FC saga was announced after the license of the International Federation of Football Association was abandoned, now it is the federation itself that announces its plans: there will be more FIFA games.
“I can assure you that the only real and authentic game with the FIFA name will be the best game available to football players and fans. The FIFA name is the only global and original title. FIFA 23, FIFA 24, FIFA 25 and FIFA 26 , and so on: the constant is the name of FIFA and it will remain forever and will remain THE BEST.”
Together with the declarations of Gianni Infantino, president of the FIFArecognize that what is abandoned with EA is the exclusivity of the name, but that after a short-term agreement EA Sports is already working on a FIFA 23 which will be launched at the end of the year including the men’s and women’s soccer World Cup.
Along with this title FIFA has announced that during the last quarter of the year a series of titles away from simulation will be launched to offer new experiences. Once that agreement ends with EA and completely abandon the license of the name and the exclusivity of the simulation as a genre, the FIFA will move tab.
The football federation acknowledges that it is already working with publishers and investors to develop a new football simulator under the brand FIFA for 2024. It remains to be seen which dance partner he chooses to try to stand up to EA in the coming years.
