Is Activision planning a Call of Duty subscription service?
Subscription services are going more and more. The success of Xbox Game Pass has led Sony to present a new PlayStation Plus renewed with new features that merge what we used to know as PS Plus and PS Now, while the most popular games are getting used to having their own subscription service. Although the Fortnite Club has been established for more than a year, this week the GTA + service begins, a monthly subscription of GTA Online for PS5 and Xbox Series. Now everything points to Call of Duty would be preparing its unique service.
Suspicions of this service have arisen from Activision’s own page, where in the employment section it has been revealed that the creator of Call of Duty: Warzone is looking to fill a position as Manager and Influencer for Call of Duty. In the offering, a “lineup of innovations in select player experiences, cross-platform gaming, subscription based contentmobile game development, and a move toward always-on community and player connectivity.”

The Call of Duty subscription system, unlike that of Fortnite or GTA, would offer rewards in multiple games, as it could offer improvements in Call of Duty: Warzone and the latest games in the saga. However, it is unknown if it will be charged monthly, quarterly or annually and to what extent it will offer improvements for subscribers that differentiate them from other players. Obviously, the game is expected to continue to be fair for everyone, so the subscription would prioritize obtaining experience or cosmetics.
